Shortlisted for Adviser Firm of the Year – Midlands & East Anglia

February 11, 2021

Rowley Turton have been recognised as one of the Midlands’ best financial advisers by being shortlisted for ‘Adviser Firm of the Year – Midlands & East Anglia’ in the 2021 Professional Adviser Awards.

The Professional Adviser Awards, which are in their 16th year, celebrate excellence within both the financial advice community and among the broader financial services sector.

In being shortlisted, Rowley Turton were assessed on their ‘advice’ to grandparents Bob and Sally (a fictional but complex case study) who were concerned about the potential inheritance tax on their estate and wished to help their children and grandchildren. Bob and Sally also had issues around their pensions and a potential Lifetime Allowance charge, and how to use their Investment Bond in order to benefit their grandchildren. A panel of financial experts assessed the answers and the winners of the Professional Adviser Awards will be announced on Thursday 11th March 2021.

Rowley Turton’s ‘advice’ involved making the use of gift exemptions, the use of specialist Inheritance Tax trusts, and assigning the Investment Bond in order to save Income Tax.

Scott Gallacher, director of Rowley Turton said:

“The case study was an excellent example of the financial planning and tax issues that many people come to us with. We were delighted to be able to use our experience and expertise to help ‘Bob and Sally’ in this challenging case study”
